Katie works with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults, offering individual therapy along with parental guidance and family therapy when helpful. She sees therapy as a deeply relational process and believes that meaningful healing happens within genuine, trusting relationships. Building a strong therapeutic connection is central to her work, helping clients feel safe enough to be open, curious, and honest as they navigate life’s challenges. She strives to make therapy a space where clients can slow down, make sense of what’s going on, and feel supported.

Katie blends this relational approach with evidence-based practices, drawing from Family Systems Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Attachment-Based Therapy. She tailors her approach to each client, focusing on what feels most helpful and relevant to their goals.

Katie earned her Master of Social Work from Boston University and is a Licensed Certified Social Worker in Massachusetts. She has completed advanced training in Couples and Family Systems Therapies and is a certified Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Families (TCI-F) trainer, supporting caregivers in responding effectively to youth in crisis.

Before joining Birch Hill, Katie worked as a clinician at The Home for Little Wanderers, where she provided individual and family therapy, crisis intervention, and parent support. She collaborated closely with schools, hospitals, and community agencies to ensure coordinated, client-centered care, and facilitated caregiver support groups while training staff in evidence-based risk assessment and crisis response. Prior to graduate school, Katie worked as a therapeutic mentor, supporting youth and young adults in building coping skills, strengthening relationships, and navigating major life transitions. These early experiences shaped her commitment to creating safe, supportive spaces for clients of all ages.

At the heart of her work is the belief that feeling understood and supported within a trusting relationship creates space for meaningful change.
